How do i find an old car loan details

I have tried all the usual experian and equifax. I know I took a loan out for a car in 2000-2003 for a lot of money; As I was young at the time the sale man said I had to have PPI on it; for the life in me I cant find the details of the loan out.

Was a car loan for about £20 to £25K at the time. Any suggestions welcome.

If it's not in your paperwork or your memory, then you won't find it, short of writing to every lender it could have been.

Was this through a car dealer? Car dealers did not become regulated until Jan 2005. So, yours is pre-regulation unless the dealer was an agent of the lender (typically that is some own-brand finance - ie.. lender name matches car brand). If it was a second hand car dealer then this would not apply.
